After Diagnosis - Early on
It won't be long before you're then starting to think ahead for your first treatmenr session.
Usually this would be chemo but may be targeted treatments.
Either way are things from my experience I found useful.
I've included links for buying items, showing picture of.
Notes no referal commission goes to this website!
Most will be amazon links purely because that was the easiest form of sourcing for me due to delivery.
Preparing for your first treatment cycle
A list of thins to source and take with you on the day
some comfortable clothes and layers. Most likely you'll be there sometime, especially on first session. Temperature
in there could fluctuste during thst time too.
A hat and gloves and hand warmer Most treatments to varying degrees have cold sensitivity as a potential side effect.
Hard boiled sweets to suck as a comforter
Phone, charger, earphones. For music I found better for me was calmer positive mainstream stuff Vs the hard trance, jungle I use to love
Book, magazines, crosswords etc..
Paper and pen I found documenting what I did and what stuff worked useful so I could follow it again for next cycle of treatment. I found a free note taking app on my mobile very good for this
Transport How to get there and home. Bearing in mind may feel tired rough ay point of going home.
Few settling snacks to hand. Like a banana
specific treatment related things you'd take if wanting to help avoid neuropathy, hair loss etc... individual and weigh up risks vs rewards of this. Also check with your health team / advise them if that's your intention
Light cancelling head cover to help sleep
Preparing ahead for after chemo
if treatment carries cold sensitivity . Warm gloves, slippers, hat. Leave some water out to get to room temperature.
Stock fridge with appropriate foods to last several days post. May vary depending on treatment. For me was bland easy to make stuff like. Bread, nut butter, bananas, apple sauce, soup, eggs, pasta
